Bad news, ladies: New German research has indicated that women's skin ages faster than men's. Using lasers that measure the level of damage to the skin from sun exposure and aging, researchers found that women's skin lost collagen at faster rates than men. They also found that all your skin may not look the same age: In a healthy 35-year old some areas can appear like the skin of a 25-year-old and others like someone who is 50. In general, though, the results of the skin tests correlated with the patient's age. How to keep your skin looking as young as possible? Wear sunscreen, everyday. Sun damage is the #1 cause of the collagen breakdown that leads to fine lines, sagging skin, and wrinkles.
