BB Couture Regular Guys-The Greens

Here's a bonus pic of one of my favorite 'Regular Guys'! This is Gus, our newest German Shepherd Rescue that became a part of our family (we now have 2 Shepherds, a Shih Tzu and 2 Persian cats!) this past December. You can read more about his triumph over life below.

Below: Mariner is what could be described as a slightly muted Emerald green with aqua shimmer. This was nearly opaque in one coat, but I used 2 coats in the photo. This one does have a bit of a frost finish, which is why I went with 2 coats to diminish the brush strokes.
Below: Golf Pro is one of those 'love it or hate it' shades, and I for one, love it! It's a classic BB Couture polish that's a Swamp green creme with tiny silver glitter that reflects a lighter green shade, and slightly larger pieces of black glitter.
Below: Macro shot of Golf Pro's finish.
Both of these are giving me near-opaque coverage with one coat, just as Blue Collar did in my post yesterday. I'm showing them to you using 2 coats, but the coverage and formula on them is fantastic. I think one of the things BB Couture does best is a creme finish with small glitter, and greens in general. They offer such a wide range of greens and just when you think they've come out with every green imaginable, they come out with something like Golf Pro. I've got 3 more polishes to swatch from this collection, but so far, I'm lovin' it!

That's a picture of Gus above, and some of you may remember me posting his shelter pictures. He came up from Georgia on a rescue transport in early December, and I'm happy to say that he's finally doing well. We haven't been to the vet in 3 weeks now, so that's a record. We knew he was heart worm positive when we got him, but then we found out during the staging for the heart worm treatment that he has end-stage kidney disease. Because of that, we're not going to put him through the heart worm treatment, as his kidneys wouldn't be able to handle it. It doesn't end there though--on Good Friday he started vomiting blood--not just a little bit, and I don't want to get too graphic, but let's just say it looked like a major crime scene by the time he was done. After spending a good part of the day at the vet's, it was concluded that he had an ulcer, probably caused by the fact that he has such low kidney function that the toxins build up in his stomach causing irritation to the lining. He now takes a Pepcid every day and eats a diet formulated for kidney disease. I noticed a lump under his armpit a couple of weeks ago, so that has been aspirated and sent to the pathologist for review. I'll do what I always do--hope for the best and plan for the worst. He's certainly faced many challenges in his short life, but we love him very much and have faith in faith that things will work out for him. He's gained 15 much-needed pounds and he's sweet, smart, happy and forever loyal to us, and we are more than happy to give him a place he can finally call home. I wanted to share a link with you to the blog of a good friend of ours, Katherine, who has been instrumental in our last 2 Shepherd rescues. She is a photographer by trade, and her own Shepherds are featured on her blog. She has gone above and beyond countless times and we, among many others, are very thankful to her for the dedication she has in working through the sometimes endless channels of rescuing these innocent dogs who want nothing more than to love and to be loved. Check out her beautiful dogs here, and if you've made it through reading all of this, thank you!
