My Crystal Ball Says ...

In honor of our new “Future Beauty" theme—which launches today with biodegradable lipstick, nutritional makeup and the like—we asked our editors and brand experts to forecast some future beauty trends. And, just for fun of course, we also asked them for some light-hearted, non-beauty-related predictions. Our question: What invention would you like to see in your lifetime? Here are some of their brilliant answers:

“In my future, I would love to see Holographic Imaging come true. This way I can have hot musicians sing live next to me while I am at my desk.”
Anastasia Soare, founder of Anastasia Brow Studio

“A sleep simulator so you’d never have to feel exhausted.”
– Randi Shinder, creator of Fusion Beauty

"A mouth perfume that puts a spell on people and makes them want to kiss you. Of course, only the people you want to kiss!"
Jean & Jane Ford, co-creators & co-founders of Benefit Cosmetics

“The cure for jet-lag.”
Frederic Fekkai, celebrity hairstylist and founder of
Frederic Fekkai hair care

"High heels that massage your feet as you walk"
Danielle Raynor & Laura DiGirolamo, founders of LAVANILA

“A capsule taken once a day that would completely rejuvenate cells in all organ systems to maintain youth and beauty for a century!”
Nicholas v. Perricone, M.D., founder of N.V. Perricone M.D. Cosmeceuticals

“I would like to see pink-colored Doritos in the month of October to support Breast Cancer Awareness month. I know I would feel a lot better eating them if it was for a good cause!”
Sarah Lucero, Stila, Manager of Sales and Artistry Education

“The Star Trek Transporter System. That way you can travel place to place without ever stepping foot in an airport or on a plane.”
Fredric Brandt, renowned dermatologist and creator of Dr. Brandt Skincare

“The teleporting machine. Can you imaging being able to beam to Paris for lunch, New York for dinner, or London for an afternoon of shopping?! All without the abuse of fighting your way through an airport or dealing with a jet-lag hangover. Oh, and if that same machine could make a killer decaf mocha, well then life would be perfect!”
Jerrod Blandino, celebrity makeup artist and creator of Too Faced Cosmetics
