Heart to Heart

Hello, dear friends!
Today I am guest posting
over at my friend Kat's blog,

Kat and I have had
some heart to hearts
recently about
balancing hearth
and heart....Keeping
the home fires burning
while pursuing outside
{or inside} creative
pursuits.

My hearth.  My home.  My kiddos!
So, pour yourself
a coffee or tea
and pop over to Kat's
to read more and
share some thoughts.

And, because it's
Friday, I'm linking up
with a few friends who
dedicate a Friday Flower
to someone each week.

This week, I bestow
my petals on Kat,
who, like so many
of us, is trying to keep
a lot of balls in the air
right now, with her family
as priority number one.

Kat, these are for you.

and say
hello!

She has a new puppy....

xx

except Kat's blog button
and Misty,  her pup!

Blooming Discoveries {And a Winner!}

The spell was broken. My uncle learned to laugh, and I learned to cry.
The secret garden is always open now. Open, and awake, and alive.
If you look the right way, you can see that the whole world is a garden.
~ Mary, The Secret Garden

When I first turned
the key
and opened
the door
to the world
of blogging
I felt a lot like
the character Mary
 in the
Secret Garden...

Not certain of
where
I would be going
who I would be meeting
or where it would
lead me.

But like Mary's
story, my own
has introduced me
to a beautiful realm....

....where every day
brings a new
and lovely
discovery.

I am joining
 friends Laura and Melissa
as well as Elizabeth who present a
Friday Flower each
week to someone special ~

And for me
that someone
would
be
YOU.

I've discovered some
amazing artists as a
result of pushing open
that rusty door
and poking my head
around the corner,
and I would like to
pluck some flowers
from their creative
gardens and put them
in your hands......

The Letter Writer by Harrison Howard
I spent way too many
hours on his website this
week!  Each of his pieces
are so lyrical, I kept
hopping from one to the
next.  Harrison is also
one of the kindest
gentlemen in the blogosphere!

Morning Tea with Wildflowers by Laura Harris
I met Laura Harris early on
in my blog writing.  I
don't remember who
commented on whose
blog first, but what I
could not forget was her
talent and my excitement
when I bought a miniature
oil painting from her.

Bouquet of Autumn Flowers by Trish Jones
I was very fortunate
recently to win an
original painting on
 Sweet as June
by the wonderful artist
I've been following
her blog, The Old Post
Road, for a while
and am just tickled
to own one of her
happy creations!

Mae ~ Fox Print by Amber Alexander
I spied a sweet
painting by Amber
sidebar of a blog just
this week.  One click
and I was trolling
the halls of her Etsy
gallery, full of whimsical
creatures that really
made me smile.

Afghans in the Garden by Violet Skiles
The last artist's
garden where I'll
pluck you a bloom
belongs to Violet Skiles,
who I follow on
her sweet blog
Create Beauty;
an apt name, don't
you agree?

A big thank you
to all of these
very special
artists for their
extraordinary
Friday flowers!

One more flower
for the winner
of my CSN gift card
giveaway, selected
at random by
random.org.

# 87
So Stinkin' Cute

This bud's for you!
And the CSN gift card, too : )
Congratulations!

Happy Weekend!
