Just back from a lovely holiday in the mountains of Switzerland and have to report on a most unpleasant skin incident. About 2 days into the trip, just as this devoted city girl was adjusting to the unbelievably fresh air and healthy outdoor activities, I awoke to find my skin in a very sad state—loads of angry, red, severely dry and itchy patches! A beauty emergency of the worst kind, and without my usual arsenal of soothers, salves and tonics. What's a girl to do? Shop, of course. I made my way to the nearest apothecary and proceeded to load up on all products labeled "for reactive or sensitive skin." Were I home, in my well-stocked bathroom, I would have reached for
Murad Redness Therapy Soothing Gel Cleanser and
MD Formulations Critical Care Calming Gel, both excellent at diffusing skin situations like this. Next time, I'm taking everything with me, even if it means I have to leave the metallic KORS wedges behind.
