Carol's Daughter is Growing Up

Have you seen Carol's Daughter lately? Oy VEY! It seems like just two years ago she was a hand lotion and now! They grow up so fast ... When Lisa Price toyed around with hand lotion in her Brooklyn kitchen 7 years ago, I doubt she could have predicted her products would become cult classics, spearheaded by support from celeb buddies. On the heels of its women-of-color-friendly haircare and skincare lines, Carol's Daughter is branching out into the wonderful world of color. WWD Friday announced Carol's new line of "Candy Paint" lip gloss, retailing at $13.50 each. The company promises to donate a portion of the profits to the Lupus Foundation (industry insiders expect the product to make $4 million its first year). Our Captain, Commander and Chairman David Suliteanu has already jumped aboard S.S. Carol. He told WWD Carol's Daughter is the "perfect storm; great product, a lot of buzz, and a strong passionate team." Be sure to keep plugged into Sephora for your brand weather report.—Gabrielle Katz, Sephora
