One of the polishes offered in the Friday Follower Freebie (which is open for entries through midnight tonight and can be found just below this post) is Nina Ultra Pro in Emerald City. This is one that I myself have had on my untried shelf, along with a couple of other shades from this line. I have used this brand before and every time I try one, I'm left wondering why I don't use them more often. The formula is very nice and the color range, although not as wide as some of the other lines out there, is really quite varied. Emerald City is a vibrant yet deep Emerald green shimmer that applied nicely in 2 coats. I experienced very good coverage with just one coat, but opted to go for a second. After looking at other shades I have that are comparable, I would definitely rate this one right near the top as far as favorites--great formula, opaque coverage with one coat, beautiful rich shade of Emerald.
I decided to top it off with a polish from my wonderful ROAK package I received from Lynn last week. Absolute! (the exclamation point is part of the brand name) is manufactured by Nicka K Cosmetics, who also makes a line called NK, often found in small, independent beauty supply stores. This one is called Wizard and is a clear/ivory with tiny iridescent blue shimmer. I don't think it would perform too well alone, but over a darker shade it's perfect. I love these little brands that are found in beauty supply stores. They're inexpensive, unique and just plain fun!
