More on the quest to find the new
Sephora Pro Beauty Team. Our beauty editor Cindy Fedida trekked to Manhattan's 34th St. Sephora on February 9, where the New York round of open call auditions was in full force. Jose Rivera ran the show—Sephora’s Education and Development Manager, beaming center-stage—and gave everyone the rundown on the 7:30 am - 6 pm day. Contestants were split into partners, given a list of products to use and instructed to achieve that trendy natural look on their model. Like any competition, of course, the atmosphere was buzzing; excitement and nerves flying high. As Raven, of the Times Square Sephora, put it: “There aren’t any contests or reality shows like this for
makeup yet, so it’s definitely an amazing experience.” And—being beauty addicts, of course—the contestants managed to dole out some beauty tips amidst all the commotion: “Always accentuate the eyebrows. It really defines the shape of the brow,” said Lauren, of Sephora Short Hills. “Dab a little shimmer cream on your eyes before you put shadow on. It brings out color and makes your eyes pop.” Or, as Adriana of Sephora Union Square suggested, mix
Make Up For Ever Star Powder with
lip balm to get a creamy, natural look. (
