When it comes to my hair, I've done it all. I've chopped my bangs with kitchen scissors, had cornrows from root to tip, and—in an at-home attempt to touch up my very blond roots—I ended up with an orange stripe down the middle of my head. These days, I process my hair considerably less, but still suffer from extremely dry ends, exacerbated by blow drying, straightening and curling. The good news is I'll try anything, which led me to
Ojon's new line made with the Tawaka nut, known for its incredible moisturizing properties. (This isn't just any nut, either. The set hits Sephora holiday time, but only in limited qualities; Tawaka nut has rare harvest seasons, so it can only be produced sporadically.) So I excitedly brought home my Tawaka set—a cleanser, conditioner and moisturizer—all of which can be used on hair and body. One of my fellow Sephora-ites can't stand the way it smells, but frankly, I'm not one to let a little funky smell get in the way of gorgeous. I thought it smelled exotic, and went buck wild by lathering up head to toe; I was also sure to leave each product on for a few minutes, as the directions suggest. After toweling off, I applied the moisturizer all over. My hair was easier to comb, softer, and seemed to air-dry with more body. My skin was also buttery, and the cream worked especially well on my feet. The downfall was that the second day, my hair looked weighed-down at the roots, and I started to miss my sweeter-smelling shampoos. Bottom line: If you suffer from cracked skin, dry hair or both, this is your product. Look for it later this year.
