Where we love is home,
Home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.
Home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts.
~Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
What place
does your
heart call
home?
Even though
I live in
the Midwest,
my heart
feels most
at home
in the
Pacific Northwest.
I love
the lush green
fern and flower-
strewn forest
floors....
The wildness
of the Coast....
The snow-capped
mountains, like
benevolent
watch-guards...
And the verdant
river valleys,
bringing forth
fruit
lavender
wine...
I love the
marine fog,
in the mornings....
The crisp and
starry evenings...
I love the
dry heat of
the summers
{and no mosquitoes!}
And the misty,
damp winters
with fires in
the fireplace....
I love
the pioneering
spirit of the
North West...
Lewis and Clark
Sacajawea
But more
than anything
else, I love
three special
people {and one
new puppy}
who call it
home.
Packing our
bags....
Getting ready....
Going home.
What place
does your
heart
call
home?
PS: Thank you for your
continued thoughts and
prayers; your messages
and e-mails about my
friend Kathleen.
Her surgery went well
and we await the pathology
report {fingers crossed}!
