One of my very best girlfriends sent me an e-mail this morning with this in the subject line: I got bangs! This is a big deal for her; she has literally had the same long, straight hairstyle her whole life. Naturally, her husband hates them. She is understandably still adjusting to them and – in the spirit of all things beauty – I wanted to give all you bangin’ girls out there some tips for keeping them looking their best.1. Before you get bangs, discuss options with your stylist. As always, bring in a picture of your ideal look. Bangs are hot right now, so pics will be easy to find.
2. When bangs look greasy – but the rest of your hair looks great – secure majority of your hair in a ponytail, and just wash the bangs. This is a great trick when you’re in a hurry…wait, when are you not?
3. No time to wash? Pull bangs straight up, spritz with a little hairspray, twist back into a poof and secure with a bobby pin. Very young-pop-star of you, but also chic.
