A Beauty League Of Their Own

My friend Katlyn has a huuuge problem with the whole beauty league concept—the idea that a prettier-than-you person can be "out of your league," or vice versa. It's shallow, and convinces people that they aren't good enough, she says. (I say she takes Beauty and the Beast too seriously.) Funny enough, The Today Show has broached this topic on-air, and TIME writer Belinda Luscombe even stirred the superficial waters in her hilarious essay, "When Your Spouse Is Hotter Than You." Belinda swears she's the homely half of a mismatched marriage—an interfacial relationship—evidenced by a decade of "stares and nudges" from friends and coworkers. So what's the verdict? Do cute-agories exist? Is there such a thing as "marrying a few degrees up or down on the hotness scale"?

Can interfacial relationships survive?
Of course. Love conquers all.
No way. Love isn't REALLY blind.
