If you click on the picture, you'll get an up-close look at this totally unique offering that includes 6 shades, and while they all look stunning, Galaxy Girl and Space Cadet are the two I'm most excited about. Do you notice how the box reads "6 pix from the Cosmic FX color collection"? Maybe I'm reading too much into that, but it makes me wonder if "6 pix" is a reference to the fact that there could be more shades added to this collection in the future.
These are set to debut in September at a retail price of $10.00 each. Yikes! Maybe that's because they're infused with crystals for a multi-dimensional shine. I never thought I'd see the day we'd be paying $60.00 for a collection from Orly, but that day may have arrived. Keep in mind that last year's Fall collection from Orly, Once Upon A Time, runs $22.50 at Victoria Nail Supply. There have been rumblings in the nail polish circles that Orly is considering changing it's pricing structure to follow the way of OPI, meaning that they'd be considered "salon only" and eTailer pricing would all but disappear. I don't think that's why these are priced so high because that hasn't actually happened yet. My guess is that their price is based on the formulation, but what do I know? I have a pricing question in to Yen at VNS regarding the Cosmic FX collection, but she's getting ready to leave for the Cosmo Prof show, so I don't know how quickly I'll hear back. My hope is that they'll have the same approximate 30% discount that we enjoy now, as compared to the Sally Beauty price of $5.49, making them $7.00 each.
So tell us...which one collection are you most excited about? I think most of the Fall collections have been announced, although I am very curious to see what Barielle has to offer. Personally, I thought their 2009 ALU Fall Collection was wonderful, so I'm hoping they can come out with something just as tempting.
