Come Monday...My New Weekly 'Newsletter'

Welcome to a new weekly feature on my blog! Come Monday is intended to be a newsletter of sorts, giving you updates and news about products and providers of nail polish, along with related topics that didn’t seem to work their way into other posts. While I’m at it, I’ll also include random thoughts and musings. I always enjoy reading ‘beyond the nail polish’ posts on other blogs, because it’s interesting to get to know people in our nail polish community—not that mine will be that interesting, but we’ll see how it goes!

The photos above (click to enlarge) are of Lake Michigan and the lighthouse here in my hometown. Whenever I complain to myself about the downfalls of small town life (like no new polish collections until they’re usually old news, limited stores to shop in…you know, the really important things in life!), I remind myself that I have the natural beauty of the lake and beach to look at every day, and that makes me glad that I live here. I’ll be changing the photos each week to give you a glimpse of things in my little corner of the world.

Nail News & Updates: Speaking of small towns and their lack of shopping mecca's, I saw these pictures in Life & Style Magazine and thought they looked interesting. The first one is from Aldo stores, which is a store I don't have in my area, and the second one is from Target's Sonia Kashuk line, but my Target doesn't carry her polish line. Have you seen these yet in your area?

More news in the world of nail polish...Yen from Victoria Nail Supply is leaving tomorrow on a much-needed vacation. While she's gone, their web site will be unavailable. She wanted me to pass along that she'll be back up and running on June 23, because she wanted to be sure to return before Orly Plastix and China Glaze Vintage Vixen arrive.
Body & Soul Update: I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to post my inaugural Come Monday...because Blogger has been having some major problems today, and it just wouldn't work to post it on Tuesday! I was also worried I wouldn't be able to announce the winner of Friday Follower Freebies because of that. Thankfully Blogger just came back up for me, so I'd like to congratulate Biba from Slovenia on winning last week's prize. If you haven't entered my monthly contest, you still have time. All entries are due by June 30 and I'm amazed by how many entrants have birthdays in June. We have lots of June birthdays in my family too--my Dad, sister, 2 nieces and myself all celebrate this month. I have another guest blogger scheduled this week, so be sure to check back Wednesday and see what rmcandlelight/nailsbeautiqued has in store for us! While we're on the topic of fellow bloggers, Colette from My Simple Little Pleasures did a stunning look last week that I can't stop thinking about. It's just beautiful--check it out here.
Random Nothingness & Idle Chit-Chat: What are you looking forward to this week? I have a 9 lb. package from VNS that's out for delivery today, so that's definitely a highlight. My daughter is out of school for 2 weeks now, so I'll be busy trying to entertain her, which is always a challenge! This morning we ventured to a town 5 miles away to survey the damage from 2 tornadoes they had Saturday night. We rarely have tornadoes here, so that was really sad to see how devastating they are. I don't watch too much TV (I told you this section was random!), other than the news during dinner. These days, I don't even watch that because I can't stand to see the oil spill news...don't get me started on that whole political/environmental mess. Anyway, last night we had Boston Legal on, which is the first time I'd seen that, although my husband is a fan of it. That was such a good show, and I was really impressed with the writing and acting. It's funny and passionate at the same time about life in general and important issues. From what I understand though, it's just reruns and no longer being made, which is too bad. Are any of you familiar with that show? Did you like it?
