Hello, friends!

Has spring sprung in
your little corner of the
Northern Hemisphere?
{Or has autumn softly
blown in if you are in
the Southern Hemisphere?}

It has most definitely
arrived here in the Midwest,
although you would only
know it by the lack of
snow on the ground.  You'd
have to look really closely for
the more subtle signs
that the earth is beginning
to awaken from its
slumber, like tiny shoots
waving from beneath old
 leaves or the promise
of buds on the forsythia.

April in Minnesota, folks.
Yes, that is ICE on the lake.
{Sigh.}  Dreaming of lilacs!

As I'm sure it does for
many of  you, a change in
seasons recharges my
batteries and gives me a
 little kick-start.  I want to
tackle new projects, try
new recipes, inject a bit
of fun into my wardrobe.
The gardens are calling and
I can't wait to dust off my
bike and hit the trail, too!

But first, I need to cross
a whole passel of errands off
my to-do list.  You know,
those things that I've been
meaning to get to, but always
seem to put off.  Not a gal
who loves to do errands
anyway, it is a real push in
the winter when I'd prefer
to tackle other things that
keep me inside where it is
warm and cozy.

Recently I read a great solution
for people like me who have
a long errand list and not much
motivation to get them done:
an errand buddy!

Isn't shopping better with a buddy?
I mentioned the article to a special
friend of mine and she was game
to give it a try.

This is the deal.

We meet early one morning with
our task list, most likely somewhere
that we can get a cup of java to go.
There, we will look over both lists
and plot our day based on the
geography of the errands.

Since I LOVE to chat and the day
will include a break for lunch, I am
looking forward to tackling my list,
rather than dreading it like I would
if I were running around all day
on my own.

Which is kind of funny, since for
years I always had a built-in errand
buddy in the form of one of my kids.
At that time I was looking forward to
being a free agent and running all
over town unencumbered.

Now, I miss those days.
My little buddies.
Sniff sniff.
{Although, I do move much faster!}

Errand buddies ~ back in the day
Of course, I don't know about her
list, but my list will undoubtedly
require a follow-up errand day in
a couple of weeks.  Which will be
just fine with me as I love spending
time with this particular friend and
she will keep me accountable.

Do you like doing errands? Solo or
tag team?? Which ones have you
been putting off?

Pull up a chair while I pour the
coffee and let's compare our
errand lists!

I cannot even imagine where I
would be today if it were not for that
handful of friends who have given me
a heart full of joy.  Let's face it, friends
make life a lot more fun.

Happy Weekend,
