Backstage Beauty: Proenza Schouler

By Dara Fleischer, Contributing Writer
SHOW: Proenza Schouler
ARTIST: Orlando Pita for T3
MODEL: Kasia Struss (Women)
THE LOOK: Held inside an obscure Meat Packing studio, models lit up the jam-packed loft swathed in sheer pleated dresses paired with pointy-toed pumps to 1920's flapper girl frocks adorned with beading. Chic black cloches (a staple accessory worn on every model) called for straight, pulled back hair created by Orlando Pita. To start, Pita sprayed strands with volumizer, then, blow-dried everything straight. Next, he teased the tresses underneath for extra volume, pulled hair back into a low-slung ponytail, pinned it in place and knotted it through with the ends peeking out. Wispy fly-aways were left dangling at the sides to frame the face.
