THE LOOK: Elegant 1940’s-inspired ensembles with a modern twist stole the spotlight at J. Mendel. Models wowed the crowd with foxy fur coats, high-waisted pencil skirts, silver lamé chiffon gowns and sequined cocktail dresses. “Since the clothes are so glamorous, I wanted the girls’ make-up to look as pure as possible, but amped it up with a strong, red lip,” said Ayako. Lids were brushed with soft champagne-colored shadow, while skin was left a flawless, dewy finish.
