Backstage Beauty: Gemma Kahng

THE LOOK: To play up the feminine, fluid frocks and feathered necklines featured in the collection (think lace, tulle and tons of layering), Ayako created angelic, snow-white faces awash with rose. “Gemma Kahng wanted the models faces to resemble those of a Renaissance painting, so I dabbed white powder across their brows, lids and cheeks, which were also accented with magenta pink blush.” The result was a primitive rosacea-like flush with a pale, shimmery finish. Lips were left matte with a subtle pink.
