All in a Day's Work

By Cindy Fedida, Sephora Beauty Editor
Yesterday, I was invited by the lovely ladies at Bourjois—the fabulous, French makeup brand—to preview Docteur Glamour, their Spring 2007 lip collection. Now I've been at this beauty editor thing for over a decade and usually have a pretty good idea what to expect when attending a launch—petifours in the penthouse of a posh hotel, cocktails at a cool new club, even mani's and pedi's—but there was no way I could have seen this one coming. This was one I will not soon forget. Parked at the corner of 57th and 8th was the Bourjois Lip Clinic, a makeshift infirmary-on-wheels (complete with see through walls and hot pink shag carpet) set up to showoff the Docteur Glamour collection to NYC beauty editors. I was invited in, introduced to Docteur Glamour herself (see photo) and given the lowdown on Bourjois' latest lip innovations. In a word: lipp-a-dee-doo-da! From "Fresh Kiss Gloss" (a magnificently minty, breath-freshening formula that makes your lips glisten) to "Double Ended Buffing Balm"(a revolutionary chapped lip treatment that comes with it's very own too-cute-for-words, mini-exfoliating brush) to "Eau de Gloss" (an uber-moisturizing, water-infused gloss containing somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60% water), my chapped, winter-ravaged lips and I were in heaven. Only in New York, right?
