Here are some quick recipes for taking care of your hair.The ingredients are easily available; you will perhaps find all of them in your kitchen.


Hair Conditioner: Beat one egg yolk and mix a cup of plain yogurt into it. Rub this mixture in before washing your hair and wait for 30-45 minutes. Rinse well and finally wash it.



Hairspray: Take a lemon and cut it into 4 pieces. Place them in a pot with 2 cups of water. Boil it until the water becomes half. Cool, strain and keep it in a spray bottle. Keep this spray in refrigerator to use it for a long time. If you find the spray is sticky, you can add a little more water into it.



Hair Color: Coffee gives a warmer glow to brown hair. Brew a cup of coffee and cool it completely. Then strain it and rub it in your hair. Leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse it out.

Beauty products for your face

Face masks can moisturize your face skin and make it glow with beauty.
Here are some recipes for preparing facemasks.


Citrus fruit mask: Take 1-tablespoon of honey and 2 tablespoons of orange juice.
Mix them with 1 apple puree with ½ teaspoon sage.
Mix all the ingredients well and then heat the mixture for few minutes in microwave.
Apply this pack evenly on your face and keep for 20 minutes.
Then wash clean with a warm washcloth.
This mask is suitable for all skin types.


Cucumber mask: Take ½ cucumber, 1 egg white, ½ teaspoon of lemon juice,
and 1 teaspoon of apple mint, and make a mixture of these ingredients using
a food processor or a blender. Keep this mixture in a refrigerator for 10 minutes.
Then apply it on your face and keep it for 20-25 minutes.
Rinse off with hot washcloth and then rinse with cool water. T
his mask is very good for oily skin.
Other beauty products


Recipes for teeth whitening product:
Take 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of salt.
Make a paste and apply this on the yellowish tint.
Take the inner white part of orange skin and rub your teeth with it.
This will help you get a lovely white shine.

Recipes for home made perfume: Place cheesecloth in a bowl
and fill with 1 cup of flower blossoms of your choice
(Lavender, Lilac, or any highly fragrant flower).
Pour water over the flowers until they are completely covered.
Cover the bowl and keep it overnight. Next day, take out the water by pulling the
edges of the cheesecloth and gently squeeze the scented water into a small pot.
Simmer the water until one-tablespoon amount is left. Cool and place it in a bottle.
You can keep this perfume for 1 month.

Lavender-Scented Baby Powder
This is a lovely, rich powder ideal for keeping infants comfortable.  
Lavender oil is extremely soothing and has antibacterial properties.
This simple powder will keep your baby dry and happy.  
You can also use the powder yourself after bathing.
Ingredients:
1 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon light oil (almond, sesame, sunflower)
2 drops lavender oil.
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients in a resealable plastic bag.
Seal the bag and massage the powder until all the oil is evenly distributed.
Pour into a clean, dry container.
Yield: 8 ounces



Peppermint Leg Gel
This is a light, non-greasy, invigorating gel that is perfect for tired legs and feet.  
For extra cooling action, place this gel in the refrigerator before using.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup Aloe Vera gel
1 ½ teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon witch hazel
3-4 drops peppermint oil
Directions:
Combine the aloe vera, cornstarch, and witch hazel in a heat-resistant container.  
Warm the mixture until it is a clear, thick liquid about the consistency of honey.
(You can do this in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds for 1 to 2 minutes on high, or in a double boiler on the stove top.)  
After the mixture has cooled, add the peppermint oil and stir thoroughly.  Pour into an airtight container.  Massage this lotion into your legs and feet for an instant pick-me-up.  
Yield: 4 ounces


Subject: Citrus Furniture Spray

Citrus Furniture Spray
10 drops Lemon
5 drops Lime
5 drops Bergamot
2 tsp. light olive oil
1/4 cup white vinegar
purified water
Put olive oil in 16 oz. spray bottle, add essential oils
and vinegar. Fill the rest of the bottle with purified
water and shake well.
Please do a patch test first just in case.


Almond Orange Body Lotion

1/8 tsp. borax powder
1/2 c. almond oil
1 tsp. coconut oil
1 tsp. grated beeswax
2 tbsp honey
3-4 drops essential orange oil


Almond Rosewater Body Lotion

1/4 cup rosewater
1/4 cup glycerine
2 tbs. witch hazel
1 tbs. almond oil
Mix together rosewater and glycerine.  
Add witch hazel and almond oil.
Stir completely to dissolve.  
Pour into a pretty bottle


Soapless Hand Cleanser
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon oatmeal or ground almonds
1 tablespoon glycerin
2 tablespoons witch hazel

Scented Rocks (A Nice Alternative to Potpourri)
1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 cup salt
1/4 tsp. essential oil in your favorite scent
2/3 cups boiling water
Food coloring, if desired
In bowl, mix dry ingredients well. Add essential oil and boiling water to
dry ingredients. (Scent will be strong, but will fade slightly when dry.)
For colored stones, blend in food coloring, one drop at a time, until
desired shade is reached.
Blend ingredients and form balls.
Allow stones to dry.
Place rocks in a bowl or dish to scent a room.


Oriental Nights Perfume
4 drops sandalwood
4 drops musk
3 drops frankincense
2 tsp. jojoba oil
Mix all the ingredients together and shake well.
Allow perfume to settlefor at least 12 hours.
Store in a cool dry place

NATURAL LEMON SKIN EXFOLIANT
1/2 to 2/3 C. granulated sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
Mix sugar and lemon juice to form a paste.
While showering invigorate your skin with the paste.
Use the inside of the lemon rind to rub heels and elbows.


Misty Passions Perfume
3 drops passionflower oil
2 drops ylang-ylang oil
3 drops neroli oil
1/2 pint (300ml) 70 percent alcohol or vodka
Pour the alcohol into a bottle or jar. Add the oils and shake well. Let
stand for 1 week before using.


Lemony Lavender Toner
3 drops lemon oil
3 drops lavender oil
3 teaspoons of distilled water
Use a soft cotton ball to massage mixture into the skin after
cleansing. Follow with a moisturizer if desired


LEMON ASTRINGENT (for oily skin)
1/2 C. witch hazel
1/4 C. lemon juice
Mix. Apply to face and neck with a clean cotton ball.


Hot Oil Treatment for Hair
1 tsp. soybean oil
2 tsp. castor oil
Few drops fragrance oil (optional)
Combine ingredients and warm on low heat. Massage mixture into the scalp
and hair. Wrap hair in a hot towel for 15 minutes. Shampoo and rinse out.


Honey Hand Cleanser
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon liquid soap
1/4 cup almond or walnut oil
Combine the ingredients and mix until smooth. Makes about 1/3 cup.


Enchanted Body Mist
2 cups distilled water
3 tbs. vodka
5 drops everlasting essential oil
10 drops peony essential oil
10 drops sandalwood essential oil
Mix all the ingredients together in a spray bottle, shake well. Allow to
settle for at least 12 hours. Store in a cool dry place.


Citrus Blooms Body Splash
2 cups distilled water
3 tbs. vodka
1 tbs. orange peel, finely chopped
1 tbs. lemon peel, finely chopped
5 drops lemon verbena essential oil
10 drops mandarin essential oil
10 drops orange essential oil
Combine the fruit peels with the vodka in a jar, cover and let stand for one
week. Strain the liquid, add the essential oils and water to the liquid.
Let stand for 2 weeks, shaking jar once a day. Keep in a dark bottle or
keep in a cool dark area.


 honey, lemon Hand & Foot Cream
Dry hands and feet will become smooth and soft overnight if you mix:
Bananas
Honey
Lemon juice
Natural margarine
Smear on hands and wear gloves to bed. Wash off in the morning. For dry feet, smear the mixture on and wear heavy socks to bed, wash off in the morning.


Lemon Skin Exfoliant
1/2 to 2/3 C. granulated sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
Mix sugar and lemon juice to make a paste.
While showering invigorate your skin with the paste.
Use the inside of the lemon rind to rub heels and elbows.

FOOT SOAKS
Soak your feet into a tub filled with hot milk for 10 minutes.
For an aromatherapy foot soak, add drops of lavender essential oil with a couple of pounds of Epsom salt into a tub filled with water. Soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes.
Cooler Cream
4 T. glycerin
40 drops oil of orange
4 T. lemon juice
Combine ingredients in a clean glass bottle. Shake well and refrigerate.


Wrinkle Cream
1/2 cucumber
1 egg white
2 T. mayonnaise
1/2 C. olive oil or wheat germ, or avocado oil

Wash the cucumber, but do not peel. Cube and blend with remaining
ingredients. Apply morning and evening, and gently wipe off with tissues.

Nail Whitener Recipe

1 denture tablet
1-cup warm water
Pour the water in a small bowl and drop the denture tablet in it.
Soak your hands in the mixture for 10 minutes.
Rinse with warm water.

Lavender Rosemary Hair Oil

1 oz. Rosemary oil
1/8 oz. Lavender oil
Mix the two oils together and store in the dark or in a small amber or light-proof bottle.
Put a few drops of the oil on your palm, brush your palm against your hairbrush, and then brush your hair. This is enough for about 6 months of use.
