A Tressy Taboo

Sure, there are age-old hair faux pas: Overdo the flat iron, or blow-dry sopping wet hair, and the Hair Gods cringe. But there's a less obvious hair no-no that slips under the radar. Always tying your ponytail in the same spot? Bad move, Madame Breakage. Hair strands get caught in elastics, especially if you don't use snag-free elastics, so switch that pony around on occasion. "Move it up a half inch one day, then down the next," stylist Richard Marin told Good Housekeeping. Think of it as preventative hair-apy. The strands ain't broken, and you won't have to fix 'em.
