from a dream

Careless remarks

perfect spacing

between siblings

that wounded

that worried

me.

Three and a half years

apart

BUT

you've always thought

that she

hung the moon....

I hope

savor this summer

these years

before worries

of GPAs

acne

girls

driver's permit

summer jobs

And while

I mourn

the loss

of your downy head

your toothy grins

being able to wrap

the whole of your

 being

in my arms

and on my lap

I'll also relish

your wonderful

big hugs

and boundless

enthusiasm

for this life

as we both

look expectantly

to your future.
