Going, going, gone!

When it comes to
mothers
I am the luckiest girl
on two feet.

2007
My mom and I are best friends
and like all good buddies,
we love traveling
together!

{Most} every year
for 14 years,
my mom has given me
an amazing gift.

Not one that I can hold
in my hands,
but rather, one that I can
hold in my heart
long after my big day
has come and gone....

Each year we think of a
place that we'd like to visit.
Then, like a fairy godmother,
she makes it happen.

2009
We live 1400 miles apart
{she in Washington State,
me in the Midwest}
so it takes a bit of magic
to pull the whole thing off.

Especially because we are
both leaving our own households
to run on auto-pilot for a while.
This was trickier when my children
were younger and we weren't
near family,
but my in-laws flew to the rescue!
{To help while my understanding husband was at work.}

Here are some of the
marvelous places we have visited.....

THE CITY of cities:  New York

The Rose City ~ Portland, Oregon

Charming Savannah, Georgia

This was a fun year!

A Spa in Minnesota ~ Saw 'lots of these
Santa Fe was a dream

Fell in love with the gates of Charleston

New Orleans was jazzy

                                          Victoria, BC....Now we're international

This was the Prior House, our B and B in Victoria

Our last getaway....Carmel, California

I couldn't take enough pictures of the flowers in Carmel!

Yes, I'm a lucky girl.
It's birthday trip time, again.
I'm leaving today.

Someone wants to know
where I've gone......

I'll be sending you some postcards.

Come visit this weekend!

See ya'll then.
