Gotta love no-brainer trends. The casual (albeit heiress-inspired) sweatpants craze, the bed-head look, the hobo-chic sweater thing and now this: the easy breezy, pull-up-and-go ponytail. Forget the straightening, the curling, the crimping, the primping—the fall runways were all tied up in knots over simple ponies, which ask nothing more than a good brush and strong elastic. But there is one stipulation to this beautiful pony show: that low, lazy version you sport as you wash your face? Won’t do. WWD says ponytails should be worn as high and tight as possible—circa your adorable, little ballerina days—and even with a curled flip at the end if you have the time. Either way, it's cute, effortless, and radiates that coveted didn’t-even-try beauty. Doesn't get better than that. So, pony up.
